Ok, we're back

I was advised not to post our travel dates while we were gone for retrospectively obvious reasons. I'm not good at keeping secrets so it's been hard and not completely successful. But we had a really nice, once in a lifetime vacation that included planes, boats, buses, street cars, feet and automobiles. My percentage of being able to say, "been there, done that" has gone up significantly. I'd hoped to be able to post more under "friends and family" while we are gone, to be made public on our return, but the lack and expense of internet access was prohibitive. I only got one post in. And that one was rushed so I hope to reconstruct our trip now that we're back. It will also give me a chance to stay there for a while longer before school starts next week. Oh yeah, I have to call A Beka as they helped fill up our answering machine while we were gone with some curriculum ordering glitch. Back to real life.

  1. Glad you're back.  As you can see, I've broken the silence on my blog.

  2. Can't wait to hear what you did on your trip and how you liked the unnamed place.

  3. Bryan, I'm so bummed we couldn't go this morning! We missed Ben's Dr.'s appointment Monday (post trip space out) and rescheduled it for today not realizing there was Liturgy. We've missed two Sunday Liturgies in a row and that would have been a nice welcome home. We're coming tonight though, so see you at 6 for choir practice?

  4. Well, no, we had an accident with Hope when we got out of the car.  She got her fingers caught in the van door.  Owie.  That, and the fact that Kate (apparently) has hit a growth spurt had her eating all the formula I'd brought w/us (Audra was at a dr. appt).  So...traumatized two-year-old + hungry one-month-old = Papi taking everybody home during the Great Entrance.  Oh, well.  Sonia was a life-saver, taking Kate for me while I calmed Hope down.  She's fine, btw; those little hands are mostly cartilege, anyway, so the only thing that wound up happening was that she had these two little purple dots, one on the knuckle of her middle finger, and one on the knuckle of her ring finger.  They're gone now, but I told her that her fingers had "eyes."  Traumatized as she was, she didn't appreciate the humor at the time, but she got to where she was telling everybody about her finger eyes later...

Fun morning!  See you on Sat. evening at 5 for the baptism!

  5. Oh, poor Hope! I'll have to give her a hug and see her new set of eyes Saturday. We're looking forward to little Kate's Baptism! I'm sure she has changed a lot since we saw her in the hospital.
